About Me

Words On Call was created by me, Jill Furnival. I am a Masters trained genetic counsellor with over ten years experience in the Clinical Genetics setting.

As a genetic counsellor, it is my job to simplify complex medical concepts for patients in a way that is clear, sensitive and supportive. With naturally strong writing skills, early on I began writing and editing for the Genetics department. This coupled with my experience as a health educator and passion for the written word sparked the creation of Words On Call.
